  • Assisting with Weed inspecting and spraying, vegetation management
  • 37.5 hours / week (M-F)
  • Starting wage $18.50/hr
  • Class 7 Drivers license required
  • Spray certificate is an asset or Willingness to be obtained

Deadline is March 31, 2026

Position will be from June through August

Wage is $18.50 – depending on experience

  • Regular manual labour expected (lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling approx.. 50lbs)
  • Drivers license required
  • Conduct pre-use equipment checks and report malfunctions immediately.
  • Report progress, challenges, or hazards to supervisor on daily basis.
  • completing annual inspection of municipal infrastructure including road signs and mapping out any assets that are due for replacement
  • Operate small engine equipment including zero turn mowers, small tractors w/ rototillers, and other maintenance equipment
  • Assist with vegetation management such as mowing, trimming trees / bushes, hand-pulling weeds, weed whipping.
  • Maintain regular cleaning schedule at the municipal shop and campground washrooms
  • Assist PW Coordinator on major projects like resurfacing boulevards and patching residential roads in the hamlet.

Position will be from April thru August

Wage $20.50 depending on experience and accreditation

  • Drivers license required
  • Spraying certificate is an asset, willingness to obtain is required
  • Weed inspections within the MD of Acadia and spot inspections in rural areas
  • Create and maintain records of work completed, mapping out areas of concern.
  • After watching and learning AG Fieldman suit up with the appropriate PPE for mixing chemical, the Youth would suit up with the same PPE to assist with spraying, primarily with backpack sprayers.
  • Assist with vegetation management such as mowing, trimming trees / bushes, hand-pulling weeds, weed whipping.
  • Operate small engine equipment including zero turn mowers, small tractors w/ rototillers, and other maintenance equipment
  • Clean and maintain mower decks and other small equipment
  • Support PW staff with jobs requiring more resources (road patching and sign program)
