Statutory Plans
Statutory plans help guide how land is used and developed in the Municipal District of Acadia No. 34.
These documents are created under the authority of the Municipal Government Act (MGA) and provide a framework for decision-making about growth, development, and land use in our region.
Statutory plans reflect our community’s vision for the future, ensuring that development is managed in a way that balances local priorities, economic needs, and environmental stewardship.
The MD of Acadia No. 34 is guided by the following key documents:
- The Intermunicipal Development Plan (IDP) outlines shared development goals with Special Areas and complies with the MGA.
- The Municipal Development Plan (MDP) sets out overall development goals for the MD and includes a future land use map aligned with the IDP.
- The Land Use Bylaw (LUB) is the primary regulatory tool for implementing both the MDP and IDP.
- The Integrated Community Sustainability Plan (ICSP) outlines the MD's vision and long-term strategy for becoming a more resilient, livable, and environmentally conscious community.
