Agricultural Service Board
The Agricultural Service Board is responsible for setting policy and directives for the MD of Acadia’s Agriculture department.
At present, the council of the MD of Acadia also serves as the Agricultural Service Board.
Agricultural Service Boards (ASBs) are established under the Agricultural Service Board Act, with one board serving each Special Area to address local agricultural needs.
ASBs play a key role in shaping policies and programs that support the agricultural sector, including: Managing agricultural weeds and pests, Promoting soil and water conservation, Supporting sustainable and viable farming practices, and Overseeing the control of animal diseases.

The Agricultural Fieldperson is responsible for developing and implementing the Agriculture program based on the directives of the Agricultural Service Board. Primary duties include weed inspections, weed spraying, and the Rat Control Program.
