Taxation
The Municipal District of Acadia is committed to providing transparent and fair taxation services to its residents and businesses.
Taxation
Tax notices are usually mailed out in the 1st week of June and are due on or before November 15th of each year. However there is a 5% discount available on the Municipal portion of property taxes if they are paid in full on or before August 31st.
Property taxes are calculated annual and are on your property’s assessed value. In May of each year, council sets a budget and a mill rate based on the dollar amount needed for that year that determines your property tax levy.
Taxes that are not paid in full by November 15th are assessed a 12% penalty on November 16th.
