Land Use Planning Bylaws
Land Use Planning Bylaws help guide how land is developed and used within the Municipal District of Acadia No. 34.
Land Use Planning Bylaws
These bylaws ensure that growth and change in the community happen in an organized, safe, and consistent way—supporting agriculture, industry, housing, and environmental protection.
These regulations set out what types of development are allowed in different areas, how buildings can be used, and the process for applying for permits or requesting changes.
- The Land Use Bylaw (LUB) is the primary regulatory document that governs the use and development of land and buildings within the MD. It divides the municipality into land use districts (such as agricultural, residential, and commercial) and outlines what types of development are permitted or discretionary in each area. It also includes rules on setbacks, building height, signage, and more.
If you’re planning to build, renovate, or change how a property is used, you may need a Development Permit. Some projects require discretionary approval, while others may be permitted as-of-right.
